Serverless SVN

Even for solo development is is nice to be able to version code.  For all of Visual SourceSafe’s shortcomings it had one nice feature – it didn’t require a server.  Simple define a folder structure and you were off and versioning.   While the preferred configuration of SVN is to create a server, it can be used without having a server.   I would not recommend this for any professional environment it is a convenient way to revision personal code.  Here is a post from Mike West that describes it in more detail: http://mikewest.org/2006/09/serverless-svn-repositories
